In addition to TDSB’s Fresh AER documents and other Ministry Expectations guides, here are some other A and E resources which may help you to assess and evaluate student work with podcasting.

Just as we teach students to evaluate websites and books – it’s also important to teach students how to evaluate podcasts with a critical eye. The following links will help students learn how to evaluate other podcasts as well as their own!

3. Send us your final audio file so that we may share it with others.

Here is an example of a possible final product.

In this stage organize your information using a variety of graphic organizers. Again, older students could post these to a wiki, whereas younger ones could do them on paper, or use Smart Ideas software.

Scenario: You have been approached by MasterCard Canada to create a “Priceless Audio Commercial” about being an educator in Ontario. In order to successfully complete the task, you must do some research. Some things to consider:

- What is the format of the Mastercard commercials?

- How does one become an educator in Ontario?

- What are the roles and responsibilities of an educator in Ontario?

- What are the advantages and disadvantages to being an educator in Ontario?

- Any other interesting facts that might make your audio presentation more effective
